A Bountiful Living Room with Feng Shui

The living room is one important area in the house where we receive guests, do some recreational activities and bond with the family. It can also be used for other purposes like business dealings, tea parties and small gatherings of friends and relatives. For these reasons, it is very important to maintain harmony in this room. This will help in maintaining and creating healthy relationships within and outside of the home. To better help in achieving these things, there must be a good flow of chi. This can be fostered by following some simple principles of feng shui.

First of all, the door leading to the living room, which is the front and main door, must be well lit. This must look pleasant and inviting to allow positive energy and good opportunities to enter the home. Choose furniture that will not look bulky in the living room. There must be enough space to move around. The plants, decorations, tables and chairs must be placed in coordination with all the other elements. If there are things there that just create clutter, then you might as well remove those. Such things could be clothes lying around, toys or maybe paperwork.

Lighting of the whole room is essential. Even the corners of the rooms must be well lit. This will allow good luck and peace to enter. You can use lamps and add some plants to make the room livelier. Finally, try to balance the yin and yang in the room. If there are bright colored things, the others must be light colored ones. The vertical, horizontal, hard and soft elements must be well contrasted. By doing these few simple things, you can be assured that there is a good flow of energy in your living room.
